2016-2017 Track & Field
A meeting with expectations was held on Thursday, February 16 during TIEE.
If you did not attend the meeting, stop in and see Coach Streaser (rm. 505) or Coach DeBlock (rm 302) ASAP.
Track evaluations will begin the week of April 3, 2017.
Medical forms will be due on March 21, 2017

NOT from the Nurse or Athletic Director.

Track is a two-month commitment and your teammates depend on you every day. If you will be late to practice or need to leave early from practice, you need to email your coach ahead of time. Multiple absences need to be discussed with the coaches and may result in ineligibility for meets or dismissal from the team.
Practices are Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays every week. Practice will start at 3:05 PM in the gym and end by 4:30 PM. Meets start by 4:00 PM and end around 6:00 PM. Allow an extra half-hour for the bus to return to EMS around 6:30 PM.
Team members are expected to wear running shoes, shorts, and a t-shirt for practices. We will run outside in all types of weather. For the first few weeks, depending on the temperature, you may want to wear sweats. You must bring your own water bottle with your name on it to all practices & meets. Once practice starts, there are no bathroom breaks and no water breaks except for in extreme heat, so come hydrated and prepared.
Track and field is open to all seventh and eighth grade boys and girls. School comes first. You will need to learn to prioritize your commitments. If you need to miss practice or a meet, please let your coach know ahead of time.
You must wear matching uniforms at meets. In the event of cold weather, you may wear a white shirt and black tights or Under Armor pants under your uniform. Meet officials have been known to disqualify competitors (especially relay teams) for non-matching uniforms.

Tryouts/practice will be from 3:05 PM to 4:30 PM on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays. We start on time with no indoor breaks during practice, so make sure to take care of the following before you arrive:
- appropriate clothing for the weather
- water bottle with your name on it
