March 29
Parent Seminar
April 7 -14
Schools Closed
Report cards will be issued at the end of the day today for the second academic trimester. As we enter spring, and the final trimester of the school year, there is a sense of renewed purpose and refreshed energy in the Wyckoff schools. Students have grown, physically and academically, and a new season of possibility and continued achievement is here. Our spring concerts and musicals have begun and spring sports will launch next month. We look forward to a successful final third of the school year.

Student Music Performances
Eisenhower Middle School’s spring musical “Music Man Jr.” opened last night and will close with their second and final performance tonight at 7:30 p.m. The cast and crew of 55 students have worked hard to prepare and are putting on an excellent show. Spring music performances will continue in the coming weeks, starting with Coolidge School’s mini-musical in the primary grades, and Washington and Lincoln School’s upper grade concerts next week.
Author Visits
The month of March began with Read Across America Week, and the literacy celebrations have continued throughout the month at all WSD schools. We welcomed authors Paul Volponi, Roxie Munro, and Sarah Weeks at three of our schools this month, coordinated by our media specialists and generously funded by our parent-teacher organizations. Students listened to read-alouds, and attended assemblies where they learned about the writing process and the joy of reading.
Upcoming Parent Workshop
The Connected Parent Series continues with the March 29th parent seminar on “Nurturing your K-8 Child at Home and at School.” All WSD parents are invited to attend this one-hour evening seminar conducted by the district’s instructional coaches, beginning at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, March 29th at Washington School. To register for this event, and to see the full listing of seminars in the Connected Parent Series, visit our website at wyckoffps.org.
Clubs and Commissions
Spring clubs are well underway after school at the middle school, with a wide array of topics and activities that appeal to varying student interests. The Mad4Kids Club will run an event next week called PennyWars to raise awareness and support for victims of natural disasters across the world. All of our schools enjoy a partnership with the Wyckoff Environmental Commission (WEC), which is running a composting workshop on Saturday April 1st at Russell Farms Community Park. In addition, the WEC, in conjunction with the Shade Tree Commission, will hold a tree-planting ceremony at Coolidge School next month in celebration of Arbor Day.
