The school year will begin soon, and I am happy to welcome our new and returning students and families to our halls on September 7th. Our talented faculty returns next week to plan and prepare for the school year ahead, and we are excited about all that this new school year has to offer as we continue pursuing excellence, building a caring community and personalizing learning here in the Wyckoff School District (WSD).
As announced last spring, the school board has partnered with the township to bring on a team of special law enforcement officers (SLEO III) to provide security during the academic school day. Each of our five schools will be assigned a police officer, and this new team will be sworn in at the next Wyckoff Township Council Meeting on September 5th at 8:00pm at Town Hall. The Wyckoff Education Foundation (WEF) has graciously planned a reception after the meeting to serve as a meet and greet for WSD families and the new SLEO IIIs. In addition, we continue to improve our surveillance camera system, and this year’s update will bring additional camera coverage at all schools. The safety and security of our staff and students is our utmost priority, right alongside our commitment to academic success for every student.
The school board, administration, and staff look forward to continuing our valued partnerships with each of our WSD families as we work together to provide a first-rate school experience for all students. Be sure to follow your child’s school on our mobile app for the latest updates. With the Wyckoff School District app, you can access documents, events, news updates, and even emergency notifications. Sincerely,
Kerry L. Postma, Ed.D., Superintendent
