welcome back

Dear WSD Parents and Families,

I hope you and your children are enjoying a delightful summer. Here at the Wyckoff School District (WSD), we are looking forward to next month and are excited to welcome our new and returning students and families on September 5th. We are proud to introduce Eisenhower Middle School’s new Assistant Principal, Kristin Fullam, and to extend a warm welcome to the new staff members joining us this year. We are happy to have over 2,000 students and 350 staff members across our five schools this fall.

Please note that the first two days of school, September 5-6, will be minimum days. When reviewing the 2024-2025 school calendar, please help your child build the habit of good attendance by reserving family trips and vacations for school breaks. This year, our PreK Orientation will be held between 12:50 p.m. and 1:50 p.m. on Wednesday, September 4 at Sicomac School. Kindergarten Orientation will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, September 4 at your child’s assigned school. The 6th Grade Scavenger Hunts will be held between 9:00 a.m. and noon on Thursday, August 29 at Eisenhower Middle School. To view more September events, visit our website at wyckoffps.org

While on the website, be sure to check out our district’s 2024-2029 Strategic Plan. An outgrowth of several community forums held last year, this five-year plan lays out steps for achieving academic excellence, student and staff well-being, state-of-the-art facilities, and parent engagement. The plan will be officially presented at the September 16th school board meeting.

Specific teacher and classroom assignment information for the 2024-2025 school year will be released to each family on Monday, August 26 at 3:00pm via the Genesis Parent Portal. (Families new to WSD should watch for an email from “Genesis SIS” on August 21st for instructions for setting up a portal account.)

We look forward to continuing to work closely with each of our WSD families to provide an exceptional school experience for all students. Don’t forget to download our mobile app for the latest updates. To download the app, search “Wyckoff School District” in your phone’s app store. I look forward to seeing you in September.

Sincerely,

Kerry L. Postma, Ed.D., Superintendent
