EMS Soccer Season Opens
Dear Wyckoff School District Families,
The school year is off to a fantastic start. Our dedicated faculty and staff welcomed 2,028 students in Grades PreK to 8th grade this month, including 206 kindergarteners across the district. September is Attendance Awareness Month in New Jersey, which is a great time to remind ourselves as a school community that regular attendance builds discipline and responsibility, and is necessary for academic success. Thank you for supporting our schools’ success and your child’s growth by ensuring regular attendance at school.
WEF Color Run
The Wyckoff Education Foundation (WEF) held the 2024 Color Run at Eisenhower Middle School on September 7, and a fun time was had by all. We appreciate the participation of the community in the Foundation’s kickoff fundraising event, and the generosity of our parents and the WEF in their tremendous support of our schools.
Resignation of School Board Member Christopher Rizzo
The Wyckoff Board of Education extended their gratitude for service and best wishes to Mr. Christopher Rizzo at last month’s meeting, after accepting his resignation. Mr. Rizzo served as a board trustee from January to August of 2024 before his family moved out of the area. We appreciate the work of Mr. Rizzo during his term in Wyckoff. The school board accepted applications for the open seat last month, and will appoint a new trustee in October.
NJSLA Test Results
The New Jersey Student Learning Assessment (NJSLA) results from the Spring 2024 test administration for Grades 3 through 8 have been received in the district, and the individual student reports will be mailed home on September 27, 2024. We are proud to share that in the school year 2023-2024, WSD students outpaced the state average across every grade and subject area on the NJSLA. This accomplishment is the result of your children's learning, their educators' commitment, and your support. We are pleased with our district's NJSLA achievement, and we also know there are always higher heights to reach in our ongoing pursuit of excellence. No matter how your child performed on this particular assessment, we want you to know that WSD is committed to personalizing learning for every student, so that all children are well-prepared for their future.
Five-Year Strategic Plan
The 2024-2029 Strategic Plan for the Wyckoff School District was presented at Monday’s school board meeting. The plan lays out four strategic priorities: academic excellence, student and staff wellness, state-of-the-art facilities, and parent engagement. The full plan can be viewed on our website at wyckoffschools.org. Together we will achieve great things!
Sincerely,
Kerry L. Postma, Ed.D.
