I want to thank our PTO Executive Board and all of our parent volunteers for planning a fun Theme Day. We appreciate the time you took to provide engaging activities for our students. Working together as a school community helps our students grow as learners and students!
Progress has been made on our mural projects at Coolidge School. Mrs. Teichman completed our “Cougar Pride” mural. It looks amazing! Also, we have finished our community “Cougar Paw” mural created collaboratively by each student and staff member. It is so great that we were able to complete this project working together and look forward to having it mounted shortly.
Report cards will go live on the Genesis Parent Portal on Friday, March 21st at the end of the school day for grades 1-5. Please know that report cards are intended to be a way to communicate with parents how their child is progressing towards meeting the grade level standards for a particular subject area. Learning is a continuum, and there will inherently be areas of strength and areas of growth for each student. If you have any difficulty accessing the portal, please email our Genesis helpdesk at genesis@wyckoffps.org.
Message from Mr. Cosman regarding this week’s school musical rehearsals: Check out the updated March Calendar for this week's upcoming musical rehearsal schedule. Students will now enter directly via the gym doors. Contact Mr. Cosman if you have any questions or refer to his email.
STUDENT COUNCIL- COLOR A SMILE
During March, Coolidge students are spreading smiles! The Coolidge Student Council is partnering with the organization, Color a Smile, which sends cheerful coloring pages to those in need of a smile, such as senior citizens or troops overseas. This New Jersey-based organization has sent over 2 million drawings! Coolidge Students can find the coloring pages on the bulletin board next to the main office. They can choose which picture they like and color it in. When they are done, they can turn it in on the folder attached to the same bulletin board. These will be due by Friday, March 26th. Let’s spread some smiles this March, Go Cougars!
NEW JERSEY STUDENT LEARNING ASSESSMENT (NJSLA)
The New Jersey Student Learning Assessment (NJSLA) for grades 3-5 will take place on the dates listed below. For planning purposes, please do not plan vacations, days off, or doctor’s and dentist appointments on these days for your students. Students should arrive at school on time, well-rested, with a positive attitude and approach to try their hardest. Academic assessment will be a part of each student’s academic journey so it is important to begin to establish positive attitudes, an academic mindset, and test-taking strategies. Here are the dates:
5/7-5/8 - NJSLA Grades 3-5 ELA
5/13-5/15- NJSLA Grades 3-5 Mathematics
5/20-5/21- NJSLA Grade 5 Science
