Kindergarten students had so much fun meeting some “Unique Creatures” during a special presentation last week. We said hello to all sorts of animals from Carl the Toad to Pickles the Skunk. This was the perfect way to kick off the kindergarten unit on living things. Additionally, our second-grade students had a great time at the Turtleback Zoo this week, learning about all the different animals and touring the exhibits. In fact, while visiting the cougar exhibit, students spontaneously sang our “Cougar Pride” song. Watch the video.
Our Lost and Found bin is overflowing. If your child is missing a jacket, sweatshirt, etc., please check the bin this week. It is located in the front foyer. All items will be donated to charity during Spring Break. Parents are encouraged to write their child’s name on items of clothing so we can return the lost clothing.
The New Jersey Department of Education has created a Parent Resource Page for the NJSLA. Parents may view this page for resources. In particular, scroll down on this page to view practice tests, tutorials, and released items. Helping students prepare for assessments and encouraging them to reach their potential fosters a strong academic mindset that will be beneficial in years to come.
Message from Mr. Cosman regarding this week’s school musical rehearsals: Check out the updated April Calendar for this week's upcoming musical rehearsal schedule. Students should enter directly via the gym doors. Contact Mr. Cosman if you have any questions, or refer to his email.

5TH GRADE PARENTS- IMPORTANT MESSAGE FROM EMS
Dear Parents of Incoming EMS 6th Graders,
It's time to make some course selections for Eisenhower Middle School. The Genesis parent portal will be open for course requests through April 11th. Families will have the ability to rank their preference for World Language and choose a Music option. Go to the Genesis Parent Portal and select the "Scheduling" then "Requests" tab. Follow the on-screen directions for a successful selection of courses. You will have the ability to rank all three languages in order of preference and select two music options. We will make every effort to give everyone their first preference in each category.
If you have any questions about how to complete this process, contact the Genesis Help Desk for assistance.
