I hope everyone has had a great Spring Break! As we transition back to school, we will be gearing up for State testing and heading towards the final two months of school. Let’s work together to finish the year strong!

Take Your Child to Work Day is recognized on Thursday, April 24th. If your child will be absent that day and you know in advance, please contact your child’s teacher and the school nurse to alert them.

Coolidge School celebrates Administrative Professionals Day on Wednesday, April 23rd. Please join me in saying thank you to Mrs. Gneiding and Mrs. Venema for all they do for our school, staff, and students.

There has been a change in the date for our next Student Council Meeting. The next meeting will take place at 8 AM on April 23rd, not April 24th.

Check out this newsletter from the Coolidge School special area teachers to learn about the exciting learning that is taking place in those classes!

The New Jersey Department of Education has created a Parent Resource Page for the NJSLA. Parents may view this page for resources. In particular, scroll down on this page to view practice tests, tutorials, and released items. Helping students prepare for assessments and encouraging them to reach their potential fosters a strong academic mindset that will be beneficial in years to come.

Message from Mr. Cosman regarding this week’s school musical rehearsals: Check out the updated April Calendar for this week's upcoming musical rehearsal schedule. Students should enter directly via the gym doors. Contact Mr. Cosman if you have any questions, or refer to his email.

SCHOOLWIDE MEETING

During our Schoolwide Meeting on April 10th, we celebrated our Student Council Color Wars with some “rock, paper, scissors” contests. Students and teachers representing both the blue and yellow teams squared off in some friendly competition. Before the activities began, we discussed the importance of sportsmanship and identified specific ways that students can show sportsmanship during recess, physical education, and whenever they are taking part in any type of game. This is an important lesson that will help us grow as a school community.

I-READY LOGIN AND DIRECTIONS

All students have completed their third i-Ready Diagnostic (Kindergarten has completed their first i-Ready Diagnostic). The Diagnostic is an adaptive assessment that identifies students’ strengths and opportunities for growth. That information helps determine how to best support their learning and helps teachers set goals and personalize small group instruction. Here are parent directions to access your child(ren)’s i-Ready reports.
