Lincoln Logo

Dear Lincoln School Community,

This Thursday, we welcomed a number of children of staff members for “Take Your Child to Work Day.” Our staff members’ children became “Lincoln Lions for a Day,” and enjoyed participating in activities and learning experiences with our students. Thank you to our students and school staff for being such wonderful hosts for our visitors!

Our 5th graders welcomed a special guest this past Thursday, broadcast journalist and author Tony Dokoupil, to Lincoln School to be interviewed as part of the “Lions’ Den” video program. Mr. Dokoupil, who is the co-host of CBS Mornings, shared his experience as a journalist and host, as well as his time as a Division 1 baseball player for George Washington University. Great job by our student interviewers, producers, and camera operators. We can’t wait to see the final interview on an upcoming episode of “The Lions’ Den”!

The Kindergarten Sibling preview letters were mailed out last week.  If you did not receive a letter and your child is registered for September, please contact Mrs. DiMeglio at mdimeglio@wyckoffschools.org.  Please respond to Mrs. DiMeglio if your child will be attending the preview time that they were assigned too.

Please note that there is no parking on Lucas Lane between the hours of 2 pm and 4 pm on school days. This is to not only allow for traffic to flow down Lucas Lane following dismissal, but also provide for increased visibility as students walk and ride from school. Please be sure to adhere to this and other parking signs posted in the surrounding neighborhoods. Thank you in advance for your cooperation!

The New Jersey Student Learning Assessment (for grades 3-5) begins on Tuesday, May 6th. Please see the information below about specific dates. Testing will begin immediately after Morning Meeting. Smartwatches, cell phones, and electronic devices are prohibited from the testing area, and must be turned off and in backpacks. I suggest students leave these items at home if not needed, or turned off and in the backpack. Finally, I ask for parent support in refraining from texting or communicating with students during the school day on these devices. This will enable our students to focus on their learning and schoolwork. As always, information can be provided to students via the main office or your child’s teacher. Thank you in advance for your cooperation.

Finally, Happy Passover to all those in the Lincoln community who have been celebrating this week!

Sincerely,

Patrick Lee
Principal
