Abraham Lincoln Elementary School

Dear Lincoln School Community,

We have a number of fun events planned for the upcoming weeks. On Tuesday, January 14th, our Fifth Grade Lincoln School Advanced Band members will perform their first instrumental concert of the year. Students in grades K-3 will attend the 10:00 am performance, and parents and guests along with our students in grades 4 and 5 will attend the 2:00 pm performance. On Thursday, January 23rd, we will be hosting our annual PTO Military Bridge event that will take place in the Lincoln School gym. I look forward to seeing many of our parents in attendance, and thank the PTO in advance for their hard work in organizing this evening.

The intramural scooter football season is in full swing here at Lincoln School, with our students looking forward to “Scooter Bowl 31” in a month or so! I am thrilled that so many of our 4th and 5th graders not only participate in scooter football, but also want to come watch the games as spectators. Please note that in order to ensure that all students are supervised, any student spectators (this does not include players of that day’s game) must be accompanied by a parent or adult chaperone. This may include a parent, grandparent, babysitter, family friend/neighbor, etc. I want our students to enjoy the wonderful games played at Lincoln after school, but most importantly want to ensure that they are safe and looked after in case of an emergency or other need. Again, this does not apply to players - those participating in that day’s game are under the supervision of Mr. Patanella and Mr. White. Thank you in advance for your cooperation and understanding, and please reach out to me with any questions. 

Just a reminder all lost and found will be donated to the Wyckoff Economy Shop on Monday, January 20th.  If your child is missing a coat or sweatshirt, please come to Lincoln MPR before January 20th to see if anything belongs to you.

The Kindergarten and Second Grade Kids’ Night, which was cancelled for this evening, will be rescheduled for Friday, January 31, 2025.

SUMMER ACADEMIES - MUSIC CLASSES:

This summer, the Wyckoff Music Department is looking to start classes at Summer Academies. Whether you already know how to play or sing, or want to get a head start on your new instrument for the first time, this is the place for you! Student enrollment will be accepted Grades 4-8. If you are at all interested, please fill out this google form so we can have an idea of how many students are interested. Thank you, we hope to see you there!

NJSLA TESTING DATES:

Please note the following dates for the New Jersey Student Learning Assessment (NJSLA) for students in grades 3-5. The assessments will begin after the morning meeting each day, at approximately 9:15 am.

English Language Arts (Grades 3-5) - Wednesday, May 7th and Thursday, May 8th
Mathematics (Grades 3-5) - Tuesday, May 13th, Wednesday, May 14th & Thursday, May 15th.
Science (Grade 5 only) - Thursday, May 22nd and Friday, May 23rd
